Senior Men's Mornings

Open to all male golfers aged 55 or over. You do not need to be a member of Ledgeview to participate, but you must be signed up for the league. Email s_lamont@telus.net to sign up for the league.

This is to be paid at the beginning of the year. For those that sign up mid-season, the fee will be prorated.

All players are required to pay $5 to enter each week. Non-members must also pay for their green fee. All entry fees are returned to the competitors in the form of prizes at the end of the year. Ten to fifteen percent is held back to cover expenses.

Most of the events are played on Thursday morning beginning at 8:00 am; however, a few events will be played either on a Friday or on a Wednesday. Be sure to check the schedule at the bottom of this page along with the bulletin in the clubhouse.

• Thursday morning senior members and non members alike will be able to sign up two weeks ahead online or by phone . A list of eligible players will be provided to the golf shop to ensure that only registered players can book into the senior’s block of tee times.
• The golf shop will collect the weekly entry fee and transfer the money to the senior’s account.
• Players who want to play early should book between 8:00 am and 9:00 am and those who wish to play later should book after 9:00 am.
• The competition will begin at 8:00 am running through to 10:00 am. All players must play within this time as the intent is to mingle participants, so the same players are not constantly playing with the same group.
• Booking for the current week will close on Monday night then a runoff will be provided to the responsible captain for the current week.
• On Tuesday, the designated captain will reshuffle the tee sheet to ensure that players are placed into separate groups then have the tee sheet re-inputted into the booking system.
• Subsequently, each player will be advised by email of their new tee time through the Ledgeview booking system or can go online to get their tee time.

Most of the events are low net events split between Low and High Handicap players. The handicapping system allows players to compete on a level playing field.

You can still play in Senior Men's Mornings without an official registered handicap, but you will be assigned a handicap of zero. However, you cannot participate in team events like scrambles, shambles, match play and interclub competition.

If you're a member of Ledgeview, you'll automatically have a Golf Canada registered handicap. If you are not a member and do not have a registered handicap, you can obtain one on the Golf Canada website at golfcanada.ca.
